HUMANITARIAN ACTION
BORDER REFUGEE ASSISTANCE FUND
In 2019, Bishop Mark J. Seitz of the Diocese of El Paso and the Hope Border Institute launched the Border Refugee Assistance Fund to meet the unprecedented humanitarian needs of vulnerable migrants at the US-Mexico border.

Since then, HOPE has delivered critical aid and ensured that families, women and children are able to access:

dignified shelter;

quality healthcare, including maternal and pediatric care;

and psychological assistance.
​
Because our relief program is highly nimble, we have provided innovative responses to the impacts of changing policies on the border, from Remain in Mexico to Title 42 and the asylum bans.

Our humanitarian efforts have been recognized by the government of Mexico and have been reported in the Associated Press, Cronkite News, Vanity Fair and worldwide.

clínica HOPE
Founded by Dr. Brian Elmore, clínica Hope is a unique binational clinic that draws on the talents of healthcare professionls on both sides of the border in order to provide dignified healthcare to all individuals on the move, regardless of county of origin or immigration status.
The work of clínica hope is grounded in the inherent value of every life and strives to address health inequities through a model of compassionate care that emphasizes encounter, collaboration and accompaniment.

Since its establishment at the end of 2022, dozens of doctors, med students, nurses, and physician assistants from the borderlands and across the country have provided essential healthcare in Ciudad Juárez in shelters, street clinics and to those stranded at the border wall. The work of Dr. Brian Elmore and our team of providers has been covered in the press and globally.
